We’ve reached the point in the year where most stop and give thanks for the people in their lives. It is a time to make a conscious effort to consider the past year and all those who have been a part of the moments. It’s natural to reminisce about the good times and the people who were a part of them. What about you? Who are you thankful for this year?

Innova Primary Care is especially grateful for our patients as we reflect upon 2019. Thank you for choosing us as your Huntsville primary care provider, and know that we do not take our patients for granted. Together we are changing health care from the inside out, and we cannot do this with you.

What about you? Who are what comes to mind as you reflect upon this last year? If you are like most, friends and family are gifts of gratitude. Parents who are willing to take care of the kids when you need help and friends who make every day feel like a holiday surely top your list. Maybe you’ve got a neighbor who always goes the extra mile to help out when you head out of town. Perhaps your co-workers rise to the occasion every single time you need them. We hope that even when life feels grim, there is something or someone that shines a light into your life.

Thankful Heart - Innova

But what about the people who assist with your health and make your well-being a priority?

Most physicians go into practice because they because we desire to serve others. This is undoubtedly the case for practitioners at Innova Primary Care. Many times, patients inquire about ways to show their gratitude, and we’d love to take this opportunity to share meaningful ways patients can express their thanks.

A simple word of thanks

If you’ve had an exceptional experience with your doctor, why not verbalize your experience with a quick word of thanks. Like anyone else, doctors and nurses love hearing that they have done an excellent job. A word of gratitude can be fuel for long days of serving the community.

Don’t know where to start? Be honest and speak from your heart. Tell your physician precisely what you are grateful for. Did you feel heard during a challenging appointment? If so, please tell your doctor. Did your physician put you at ease? Please tell them. Doctors and nurses truly appreciate your thanks. They so often hear about all negative healthcare experiences. One small word of thanks can create a shift in mindset. You never know the impact your kindness can create.

Thankful - Innova Primary Care

A note

Who doesn’t love a thank you card? Thoughtful words have a way of soothing anyone’s soul, and doctors are no different. Physicians love hearing from their patients and welcome your words with open arms.

If you’d like to get your children involved, please do! Handmade drawings and cards are always a hit at the office, and make everyone feel appreciated.

Recommendations

If you’ve had a quality experience at a particular medical practice, your words of recommendation are like gold to your provider. A recommendation from a patient is the highest form of praise your physician receives. It shows that you are confident in your care and are willing to put your trust in your doctor. A positive recommendation speaks volumes about your doctor.

Online reviews

If you know that over seventy-percent of patients utilize online reviews when choosing their doctors? When you take a moment to review your medical facility online, you are driving new patients to the practice. If you have a few moments, take some time to write up a review online. This doesn’t take much time, and your doctor will thank you!

No matter the time of year, we are always grateful for our patients. As health care providers, we know how special the relationship is between doctors and those they care for. We know that patient-centered care revolves around a collaborative effort between patients and physicians. Mindful medicine means that physicians and patients work together to create the best outcomes possible. As the saying goes, “Teamwork makes the dream work.”

This isn’t a post about feeling underappreciated, nor is it an attempt to garner sympathy. The reality is the medical professionals at Innova Primary Care feel called to do what we do. We strive to create the best experience for our patients and do not take our responsibilities lightly. We chose medicine, or it chose us because this is how we serve those around us. Medicine is our high calling, and we do not take this lightly. Your health is our priority, and with this sentiment in mind, let’s all tackle the holidays and the new year with thanksgiving in our hearts. Innova is proud to partner with you.
